Carers Week 2025: Recognising and Supporting Carers Nationwide
This Year’s Theme: “Putting Carers on the Map”
The 2025 theme, ““Caring About Equality” Highlighting the inequalities faced by unpaid Carers, including a greater risk of poverty, social isolation, poor mental and physical health. Too often, Carers are overlooked; at work, in healthcare, and in wider society. This year, the campaign urges organisations, employers, and community groups to take meaningful action to ensure Carers are recognised, respected, and supported wherever they live.
Why Carers Week Matters
Across the UK, over five million people are quietly caring for a family member or friend, often while juggling paid work, parenting responsibilities or their own health needs. Many do not recognise themselves as a “Carer,” which means they often go without the vital support and information available to them.
Forward Carers works year-round to improve the lives of unpaid Carers through practical advice, wellbeing activities, emergency planning, Carer assessments and our Carer Friendly Communities initiative. Carers Week offers opportunity to raise awareness, spark conversations, and connect Carers to support they may not realise exists.
